"People in the Shan States of Burma and Siam had been using the leaves of the tea plant - at first for medicinal purposes, then as a beverage - for as long as the Chinese" - K.C. Willson and M.N. Clifford
Araksa Tea Garden is located on a scenic, evergreen hill in the Mae Tang District in Chiangmai, Thailand. We are a boutique garden that specializes in producing high quality tea.
The site is one of the oldest tea gardens in Thailand. Left undisturbed for over 15 years, the tea plants have not been exposed to chemical pesticides or fertilizers for over a decade. Today we are producing excellent organic tea leaves. The tea garden covers 111 acres and consists of tea plants that range from 40 to 70 years old. The property was left untouched for over 15 years until its new ownership in 2014. Named 'Araksa', the garden is now thriving again. |
