"People in the Shan States of Burma and Siam had been using the leaves of the tea plant - at first for medicinal purposes, then as a beverage - for as long as the Chinese" - K.C. Willson and M.N. Clifford
The Araksa Tea Garden, located on a scenic, evergreen hill in the Mae Tang District in Chiang Mai, specializes in producing high quality Assam tea, an indigenous tea plant in this area.
The site is one of the oldest tea gardens in Thailand. Thanks to its high elevation and the quality of its soil and water, the land here is ideal for tea planting. Undisturbed for many years, the tea plants have not been exposed to chemical pesticides or fertilizers for over a decade. Thus, today, we are producing excellent tea leaves.
